Anesthesia management of Intra-operative myocardial infarction in a patient posted for emergency spine surgery: A case report

Aim: To understand the anesthesia management in a case of an adverse cardiac outcome intra-operativelyBackground: Peri-operative Myocardial Infarction (PMI) is associated with very high rate morbidity and mortality, especially patients posted for high-risk surgery unknown status. We report acute myocardial infarction patient without risk factors during decompression instrumentation spine. Case Description: A 49-year-old, 58 kg 178 cm man, raised blood pressure 160/100 mm Hg, no previous history hypertension or cardiovascular diseases was Emergency Decompression Instrumentation surgery. Intra-operatively, developed sudden hypotension ST segment elevation which corrected intravenous fluids, packed red cell, DAPT anticoagulants. Patient improved clinically within 2 weeks discharged complications.Conclusion: requires close monitoring, prompt detection, correction hemodynamics team effort. Clinical Significance: outweigh benefits conducting uncontrolled hypertension, to initiate timely symptomatic therapy, administering drugs that will maintain coronary flow giving definitive measures same.
